Role within the church
As one of the Elders at MPEC, I have particular responsibilities that include Mission and the ‘transitioning’ work, seeking to use all of the gifts amongst the congregation to build up the church to and for the glory of God. Recently, we have needed to replace all those who have left to church plant at Warndon.
I married Alison in 1990. We have three children, aged between 20- & 14. The eldest has already flown the nest, and the next one can’t wait to do so!
I was brought up in a Christian home and my parents, who lived in various countries in Africa and the Pacific, always took us to church. That gave me a good basic understanding of the Bible and Christian doctrine. But it was when I was 11 years old, through a Christian group at boarding school, that I first properly understood that Jesus died for me personally and I set out to try to serve Him.
I enjoy watching and playing sport, particularly Football & Cricket. I am a passionate supporter of Shrewsbury Town and have successfully indoctrinated my son. I also enjoy walking, much to the disgust of my children. I take a keen interest in politics and current affairs, to the consternation of Alison, who fears a second career looms in this area!

Favourite place on this planet
Besides the Greenhous Meadow (find it on Google!), a difficult choice between the South Island of New Zealand (Doubtful Sound) and the wonderful Fiji Islands, where I was fortunate to spend much of my childhood.
