About half way through morning worship, children can leave and go to Young Church.
'We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his powers and the wonders he has done' - Psalm 78v4
This is our heart and vision for the children and young people who come to Young Church, that we show and tell them something of God, His Son Jesus and the saving love we ourselves have come to know.
Young Church at MPEC currently consists of around 30 children/youth and 19 teachers and helpers. We meet for about an hour (11.00 to 12.00 Sunday morning) having shared the first half of the service as family worship.
Each group has a rota of regular leaders, so children know their teachers well, but are not taught by the same person every week. We meet in the classrooms at the school, so facilities for the little ones are ideal and we all enjoy using the excellent secure playground for ball games and chilling with friends afterwards!
Apart from Sunday groups there are also social times including bowling, pizzas, swimming, games etc. Young Church runs for most of the year, with a break in the summer when others take over and half term specials when the Young Church get together across the age groups and chill out, do crafts, watch videos, invite visitors in etc.
We have a Child Protection Policy and all teachers or helpers are CRB checked. For further information about our policy please contact us at info@manorparkchurch.org
Sparrows learn more about God, Jesus using Scripture Union Big Book material. They have songs time, story time, activity time, choosing time based on a nursery format.
Doves and Swallows are currently following a 3 year chronological programme based on On the Way material.
Eagles are also engaged with On the Way material. They meet most weeks, but spend the occasional Sunday in the service using sermon notes specifically provided for young people.
