Dear Ryan, Annie and all the Manor Park Teenagers
Attached a few photos taken of Lebohang when he celebrated his 15th birthday during the year-end outing for our teens at Kroonpark at the beginning of December. He enjoyed all the razzmatazz and they all had a great time at this very nice resort. Lebohang was delighted with his present of football gear and was keen to try it all on right away.
It is awfully quiet here at Morning Star with neither staff nor children to liven things up. I am holding the fort together with a couple of others, all of us needing to make up for time taken last year for various reasons. The rest of the staff return to work on 12 Jan and the children come back on 17th, the 30+ new ones coming in in batches. It is always somewhat chaotic at first while they settle down in a strange environment, the babies cry for their mummies, and the bigger ones are a bit bewildered, but after a few days all returns to ‘normal’, ie if life at Morning Star can ever be really ‘normal’! It is certainly never boring. It is at least givng me a chance to catch up with the mountain of overdue e-mails and letters as a consequence of having been away so much at the end of last year.
We hear that it is extremely cold in England right now – I hope you are managing to keep warm and well.
Thank you all for your ongoing interest, support and prayers. I pray that 2011 will be filled with God’s blessing and grace in your lives.
With Christian love and all good wishes for the New Year,
Val
