Role within the church
I am a Deacon and involved in the events that we have in the Church such as fellowship lunches and the Great Fun Day. The people who come along are from many different backgrounds and situations and these times are really good opportunities to take time out to get to know one another.
Family
I have been married to Mark for about 30 years. We have two grown up sons and a daughter-in-law who all live in Wales. I work in Worcester as an IT Technician.
Testimony
I became a Christian at a young age during a service at a Christian Holiday. My parents, older brother and sister were Christians so I knew a lot of the Bible stories and had often heard about Jesus coming to earth and dying so that my sins could be forgiven. That evening I realised that I had to ask for forgiveness for the wrong things I had done and trust Jesus myself. I had intended to talk to the pastor about this after the service but he was busy talking to other young people. I was so convinced that I needed to be saved that I could not wait any longer and prayed to God just where I sat. Following my prayer I felt a great sense of peace and went to bed. The first people I told were my family when I got back home. That all happened aver 40 years ago and I have sometimes struggled and often failed to love God as I should but I do know from my own experience that God is always loving and always faithful.
Interests
I enjoy walking with my husband and visiting the National Trust properties. I like to watch films as long as they match my mood and listen to a diverse range of music which I prefer to sing along to. Being Welsh, I watch the Six Nations rugby with varying degrees of disappointment or elation!
Favourite scripture
I do not have a single favorite verse but 1 John 3 : 1 always encourages me. See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called the children of God! And that is what we are!
Favourite place on this planet
When I think of favourite places I realise it is the people I have shared the experience with that really give a place fondness in my heart. I do love Gower coast in Wales where I spent many holidays as a child as well as taking my own children there.
