Keeping the main things the main things
At Manor Park we are passionate about church. By “church” we do not mean buildings or liturgies, we mean people. The church is the people of God, called out of the world to be in relationship with each other and with Jesus Christ. From Acts 2:42, we learn that the first Christians dedicated themselves to four things, the apostles’ doctrine (the Bible), fellowship, prayer and breaking of bread (communion). We seek to follow their example.
So we take communion twice a month together, we encourage everyone to join a home group for fellowship and accountability. We preach from the Bible every Sunday and we pray in home groups, monthly meetings and special seasons of prayer.
In a world where Christians chase the latest fashion or the latest (often false) doctrine, we want, by God’s grace to build solid followers of the Lord Jesus Christ by focusing on these four things.
